They will step up onto a stick or your finger but are now very confident in the bird room and will dodge around so they can stay with the other birds.
Dolly has now caught up with Olly and Cecil and doesn’t go back to the nestbox at all now. (That may have something to do with the Bad Boys though!)
Their flying abilities have come on tremendously, they tend not to bounce along the ceiling anymore and can negotiate a doorway. When they land on the ceiling fan I think they like the ‘roundabout’ effect they get. I’m just glad they haven’t learnt to tuck their tails up onto the blades otherwise I’d never have found them!

They are all progressing well with their school work. They can all fly well and their on-perch balance is great. Their landing skills have now improved and all three seem to like the ceiling fan in the kitchen. They’re not easy to spot up there if you don’t notice them going there in the first place!
Olly, Cecil and Dolly are all so good at flying now that we may have to trim one or two feathers to slow them down a little. They are starting to get a little more curious about the things around them and will test out different things. Vanessa’s earrings and necklaces are always a great attraction.
All three of the birds have been slowed down now and will pay attention in school again. They can still fly quite well but have to work a little harder to get to those lofty heights.
I caught Cecil trying out his voice the other day but he went all shy went he saw me!
The wing clipping has really done its job. Just four feathers from each wing leaves them with the ability to fly but they think twice about whether they want to bother.
Olly is almost ready for graduation.
Cecil has gone all quiet - at least when I’m around.
Dolly is still the baby of the bunch - nagging for food more than the others!
Olly, Cecil and Dolly have all have their final exams and passed.
Olly has settled in his new home and will be joined there by Mildred when she’s graduated.
During his leaving party Cecil asked for a name change to Tommy but insisted that his school reports and information remained under his old name! Phew!
Last but not least Dolly left but forgot to remind me about her certificate! I need a summer break - I see why school teachers get all of their holidays now.
