Pebbles now has a clutch of three eggs so far and the nestbox looks full again. I’ll be amazed if these eggs survive the trampling from Star, Flossy and Bertie - but they seem to be doing okay so far.
Contractors started work removing the nest boxes and managed to easily remove the boxes from Donald, Daisy, Frank and Nikitta section.
In true contractor fashion they stopped for a break thinking they were ahead of schedule.
Pebbles saw her opportunity and began laying her third clutch. With Bertie still in the nest box all day she knew we’d be powerless to enforce the closure.
Pebbles was never very good at hiding the eggs. She’s been caught in the act here.
Contractors have to pay penalty clause - Wife demands expensive meal at fancy restaurant - Full story when I get out of hospital.
Pebbles now has a clutch of five eggs and has stopped laying - thank goodness. These will be hatching from 18th June onwards.
With the nestboxes removed from the top section of the aviary I thought we’d be safe - but the bad boys have found them. Eric and Trixy (both boys) have been looking into these boxes when they’re all out for their evening flying time.
Although Pebbles and Romeo have slightly confused things I’m hoping to change a few of the pairings around. I’m going to see if the two new Lutinos (Banaby and Buttercup) will pair up with Daisy and Donald. If they will then that’ll be one step towards breeding a Lutino Whiteface cockatiel - All white like an Albino.
